Facing the Giants
A down-and-out coach and football team at a Christian high school struggles with the giants on the field and off. Failure, betrayal, fear, and hopelessness overwhelm the coach as he deals with a lackluster team, disgruntled parents, financial pressures, and the discovery that he and his wife can’t have children. As he turns to God, his life begins to change. Facing the Giants
Facing the Giants is the story of Grant Taylor, a coach who has never led his Shiloh Eagles to a winning season. But if six years of lackluster games have been dismal, today tops everything: his star player is transferring to another school, a group of fathers are secretly meeting to fire him as head coach, and he and his wife, Brooke face infertility. Help arrives not in the form of a star quarterback but a visitor who urges Grant to lift his team aspirations beyond a football goal. Fueled by renewed faith, Grant gives his players a different game plan, daring them to believe in the impossible on and off the field. Then, against unbelievable odds, the Eagles step up to their greatest test of strength and courage. And when faith and fear collide, only one is left standing.

Facing the Giants was written, directed, produced, and cast by two brothers, Alex and Stephen Kendrick, collectively known as Sherwood Pictures. Both are pastors at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia. No one stars; this is a movie of unknowns. All actors, with the single exception of University of Georgia Head Football Coach Mark Richt, are Sherwood Baptist Church volunteers.
Strange but true: Facing the Giants received a PG rating for explicit Christian content

Facing the Giants is a modern-day reminder that David still takes aim, giants still fall, and we often see best when our eyes are closed. While Hollywood prepares its next batch of high-budget blockbusters, Facing the Giants provides a deeply inspiring story packed with timeless truths. Be prepared for it to impact your daily life. — Charles Chandlar
Finally, a family film that men and teenagers will watch! I was unprepared for the impact. Beyond the pain and pressure of sports, beyond the bling and the bang, I rediscovered the true nature of victory. — Dr Jay Strack

The God Who Made a Miracle Out of David Stands Ready to Make One Out of You

Giants. We must face them. Yet, we need not face them alone. This profound look at the life of David digs deeply into the defeats he suffered, and the victories he won, as he faced the giants in his life. When David focused on God, giants tumbled. But when David focused on giants… he stumbled. Goliaths still roam in our world. Debt. Disaster. Dialysis. Divorce. Deceit. Disease. Depression. These super-sized challenges swagger and strut into our lives, pilfering our sleep, embezzling our peace and robbing us of our joy. And while these giants try to dominate our lives, we know what to do! We've learned what David learned, and we do what David did. We become God focused. We pick up five stones. We make five decisions. And we take a swing. Max Lucado, with 40 million books in print, will draw more readers to his fold with this release.
